Crusty Lips are Out, Soft Luscious Lips Are In
There is no denying that winter is indeed a wonderful time of the year. Especially for us Pakistanis, the cool breeze is a huge relief after the scorching heat that we experience in the summer months. However, there are pros and cons to every situation and the biggest con of the winter season is the dryness that comes with it. The drop in the humidity levels in the air can be very taxing to our skin all over the body and especially our lips! Many of us struggle with chapped, cracked and sometimes even bleeding lips. But not anymore! Because we’re sharing with you some remedies you can do at home to keep your lips soft and supple throughout the season!
Lips scrubs are a great way to slough off all the dead skin from your lips and reveal the softer, smoother layer of skin underneath. While there are many lip scrubs available on the market, there’s nothing better than the one you can make at home. All you need for this is half a teaspoon of either olive, coconut or almond oil, a teaspoon of sugar and half a teaspoon of honey. Just add the ingredients in a bowl and mix them together to form a scrub. Now, apply this scrub to your lips and rub your lips in circular motions for 2 to 3 minutes. When you’re done just remove the scrub from your lips using a washcloth and you’ve got yourself amazingly soft, pink lips.
Lip mask rose petals
If your lips are severely chapped and need some intense moisturization then this lip mask is perfect. The ingredients for this mask not only heal your lips but also provides them with deep nourishment and make them look rosy! To make this mask you are going to need 5 to 6 rose petals, and half a cup of milk. To begin, wash and dry your rose petals. Now pour the milk into a bowl and add the rose petals into it. Let them soak in the milk overnight in the fridge. On the next day, take out the petals from the milk and mash them using a pestle until it forms a paste. If the paste is too thick you can add a few drops of the milk. When your paste is ready, apply it to your lips and let it sit for at least 10 to 15 minutes before wiping it off with a washcloth. This paste can also be applied overnight for some effective results.
Contrary to popular belief, oils are not just good for hair and skin. In fact, they act as excellent lip treatments as well. Organic oils such as olive, almond, and coconut get absorbed into the skin very quickly and moisture it. You can use any of these oils as an overnight treatment for quick, effective results. All you need to do is apply the oil to your lips and sleep. When you wake up your lips will feel much softer and smoother.
This is one of the easiest techniques you can use to get rid of chapped lips. Make this technique part of your daily routine and we guarantee you will never experience chapped lips ever again! All you need to do is apply a thick layer of petroleum jelly on your lips before you sleep. When you wake up, after you’ve brushed your teeth, just take your toothbrush and brush your lips with it for 2 to 3 minutes and instantly you will see your dead skin come off. Now wipe your lips with a washcloth and you are done!
